Everything might be tubular, hollow, covered, wrapped. And perhaps we are passing through it, or already have.

Lately, I’ve been thinking more and more about which parts of my creative process should involve my own hands. Or to put it another way — which parts I’m unwilling to hand over to anything other than myself.

Through Tubes, We Now Are™ is the name I’ve given to a drawing tool I’m currently nurturing. It’s really nothing more than a simple drawing tool — we can draw anything with it: a coffee cup on the table (no idea when we last drank from it), a person’s face (we can’t quite remember whose), a hand (unclear how many fingers it has).

We’ve always hated drawing. Yet for some reason, this tool lets us draw with ease. Not that it draws beautiful lines for us — but as development has progressed, generated lines began to appear alongside our own, sounds started to emerge, and those sounds gradually became something like music. Perhaps this is a kind of instrument. Either way, what we’re making is drawn, played — with our own hands.

For now, the things that come out of this process tend to look, for some reason, like weathered lumps of something. Going forward, we plan to release works made with this tool across several platforms. All works will also be shown on this website. This tool is still young and finding its way — but please, watch over the drawings, animations, and music as they come to life.

Some works come with an Owner’s Room. We hope you’ll enjoy what you find there.
